Dodgers Keep on Rollin'! Beat Mets 7-4

The Dodgers came back from a 3-0 deficit to take game two of the three game series against the Mets; all thanks to FIVE home runs. With the 7-4 victory tonight, the Dodgers have put together the best 50 game streak (43-7) for any team in MLB history since 1912. With the comeback win tonight the Dodgers also improve to 6-0 against the Mets this year, and will look to make it a season sweep with a win in the series finale tomorrow.

Walker Buehler pitched two innings tonight in AAA starting his transition to the bullpen. Management is on the look out to hopefully have the same success the Angels did in 2002 when calling up Fransisco Rodriguez and riding his success as the setup man for Trevor Percival. Buehler has been on the fast track to the Majors as he started the season out in High A league.

With Yu Darvish's impressive outing, it has to be a bit of relief for management to be able to slide him into Kershaw's spot for the time being. Dodgers currently have a 14.5 game lead …

Braves top Dodgers 6-3, Snapping 11-Game Winning Streak

Coming into tonight's game the Dodgers have beat the Braves 8 out of their last 9 meetings at Dodger Stadium. The only pitcher to beat them during that span was current Dodger, Alex Wood.

Brandon McCarthy struggled out of the gate tonight, giving up six earned runs in four innings of work. Cody Bellinger got the Dodgers on the board in the bottom of the first with an RBI single scoring Corey Seager. Yasmani Grandal hit a two-run home run (13) in the bottom of the 6th, scoring Chris Taylor after his one out double. Dodgers bullpen did their job and shut down the Braves offense the rest of the way, but the Dodgers were unable to dig their way out of a five run deficit.

With the outing that McCarthy had tonight, it begs the question, will the Dodgers acquire a right handed starter before the non-waiver trade deadline? Dodgers also have Walker Buehler, who will most likely be called up when rosters expand in September. Although, Buehler may be the long term answer to compliment Clayt…

11 in a row! Dodgers Blow Past White Sox

Chris Taylor started the game off with a lead off home-run (11), getting the Dodgers on the board. Kik√© Hernandez would follow suit in the top half of the second with a home-run (9) of his own, putting the Dodgers back on top after the White Sox tied it up in the bottom half of the first. Hernandez hit his second home-run (10) of the game in his next at-bat - a solo shot in the top of the 4th. Seager added a home-run (15) of his own in the top of the 4th with a two-run blast to left field, driving in Chris Taylor and increasing the lead to 5-1. Dodgers would continue to add on more runs in the top of the 6th, turning it into a blow out with a 9-1 lead. The game would end up finishing in a rain delay at the top of the 8th inning, putting the White Sox out of their misery early. Christ Taylor would finish the series 7 for 8 with three doubles and a home-run, raising his average to .307 for the season.

Dodgers (66-29) have extended their current winning streak to 11 games, tying the lon…

Dodgers' Win 10th Straight Behind Kershaw

Cody Bellinger provided the only offense for the Dodgers on Tuesday night with an RBI single, scoring Chris Taylor in the top of the first inning. That sole run would be the only offense Clayton Kershaw would need to secure his 15th win of the season by pitching seven scoreless innings. Kenley Jansen recorded the save (24) to earn the Dodgers their 10th straight win by beating the White Sox 1-0. The Dodgers continue their franchise best record since 1899 by improving their tear of 30-4.

Kershaw (15-2) has recorded his MLB leading 15th win, along with completing his 14th consecutive start without a loss. Clayton is 11-0 dating back to the beginning of May. During this stretch the Dodgers have won all 14 of Kershaws starts, setting a franchise record for most wins when a pitcher starts.

Chris Taylor had a total of four hits tonight and has become the Dodgers new leadoff hitter. Taylor is hitting well over .400 in the lead off spot and has seen his total average rise from the mid .280&#…

Dodgers beat Marlins! Complete 11th sweep of season

Rich Hill pitched five innings of one run baseball while striking out nine. Justin Turner hit a solo shot in the top of the first inning and drove in Logan Forsythe in the 3rd with a sacrafice fly. The Marlins best scoring chance came in the bottom of the 8th inning. With two outs, Dave Roberts called on Jansen earlier than usual. Christian Yelich, the first batter Kenley faced, singled in Gordon making it a one run game. Marcell Ozuna then singled on a ball up the middle with an 0-2 count. Jansen then buckeled down and struck out Justin Bour on three pitches to end the 8th inning and the Marlins threat. The Dodgers would go on to complete their 11th sweep of the year by beating the Marlins 3-2.
The Dodgers have now won 29 out of their last 33 games, winning their last nine contests. Going all the way back to 1899, they (then the Brooklyn Dodgers) were the only other team to go on such a stretch. Brooklyn would go on to win a total of 101 games and the National League Pennant.

Dodgers win 8th in a row behind Bellinger and Wood

Dodger's bats came alive in the top of the 3rd inning. Scoring a total of five runs in the inning thanks to two home runs. A two-run shot by Cody Bellinger and a three-run home run by Yasmani Grandal. Both home runs came with two outs after Justin Turner grounded into a double play with runners on first and second. Wood pitched six scoreless innings and got the win tonight.

Alex Wood looked like the same pitcher he was in the first half of the season. He pounded the strike zone, and enduced a lot of ground balls and soft contact from the Marlins lineup. Wood is the first pitcher in Dodger history to win his first eleven decisions. Win's is an irrelevant stat when it comes to how good a starting pitcher is. In this case though, Wood's record is an exact picture of just how consitent he has been all year long. He has now etched his way into Dodger history. If there were no Kershaw's or Scherzer's in the National League, Wood would most certainly be a shoe in for the…
